IU President McRobbie celebrated the life and legacy of football legend George Taliaferro, an IU alumnus who was the first African American to be drafted by the NFL and announced that the plaza outside the north end of Indiana Memorial Stadium will be named the George Taliaferro Plaza.

IU President McRobbie announced that philanthropists and IU alumni Sidney and Lois Eskenazi made a gift of $20 million to the School of Art, Architecture + Design, the largest in the history of the school.
