Prior to serving as Indiana University's 18th president from July 2007 to June 2021, Chancellor McRobbie served as the university's first vice president for information technology and chief information officer (January 1997 to June 2007), and concurrently as vice president for research (March 2003 to June 2007) and interim provost and chief academic officer for IU Bloomington (January 2006 to June 2007).
