University Chancellor McRobbie helped celebrate the launch of the IU Press book "The Impossible Arises: Oscar Reutersvärd and His Contemporaries," written by Chris Mortensen, professor emeritus in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Adelaide. Reutersvärd founded the Impossible Figures movement in 1934 by drawing the first impossible triangle. “The Impossible Arises" features images acquired by IU's Lilly Library in 2014 as part of a collection of over 1,700 pages of letters and drawings.

Michael Dunn, founding dean and professor of informatics and computer science at the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering, and a professor of philosophy in the College of Arts and Sciences. Dunn, who served IU for more than a half century as a faculty member, researcher and administrator, had an enormous early impact on building IU's current standing as a leader in the use of information technology to advance the university's teaching and research missions.
