Indiana University President Michael A. McRobbie and First Lady Laurie Burns McRobbie visited IU Bloomington's on-arrival COVID-19 testing site at Memorial Stadium on Aug. 9.

IU has implemented testing protocols for several of its campuses to protect members of the IU community. Students living in on-campus housing at IU Bloomington must undergo an antigen test upon arrival. The test involves taking a sample from inside students' nostrils, and the results are shared within 30 minutes. Students living off campus are also required to schedule a mandatory "on-arrival" test through a mobile site.

McRobbie got a firsthand look at the process, and was even tested himself.

The extensive testing is one of several ways IU is protecting its community as some students, staff and faculty return to campus for the fall. The university is also requiring masks on all IU campuses, conducing contact tracing and hosting webinars with experts to answer people's questions. IU is continuing to update students, faculty and staff about the upcoming semester through its Fall 2020 website.
