Indiana University recently hosted members of a delegation from France's largest university, Aix-Marseille University, led by Yvon Berland, AMU president. The delegation's time at IU was an opportunity to strengthen the longstanding ties between the two universities and find pathways for future collaboration.
During their visit to IU, the AMU delegation met with IU President Michael A. McRobbie along with administrators and faculty members from IU's core campuses in Bloomington and Indianapolis in the areas of medicine, public health, engineering, business, math and French language.

The visit was a follow up to an IU delegation's trip to France one year ago in May 2017 where McRobbie and Berland renewed a student exchange agreement that has been in place for 16 years. Members of the delegation also met leading AMU faulty members to discuss opportunities for potential student and faculty exchanges and collaborative research projects.
Aix-Marseille University is an intensive research university, which was formed by the merger of the University of Provence, the University of the Mediterranean and Paul Cézanne University in 2012. On its five main campuses, it has 74,000 students, 10,000 international students, 7,500 faculty, administrative staff, researchers and engineers, making it the largest university in the French-speaking world.
