At a packed Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall this weekend, Indiana University President Michael A. McRobbie and First Lady Laurie Burns McRobbie joined thousands in cheering on the IU women’s and men’s basketball teams at Hoosier Hysteria.

Over 13,000 basketball fans gathered for the annual event where they heard from IU women’s basketball coach Teri Moren and men’s basketball coach Archie Miller.

Hoosier Hysteria was not only an opportunity to celebrate the upcoming basketball season, but also another chance to applaud the women’s NIT 2018 championship. As strong supporters of IU Athletics, the McRobbies joined coaches and members of the women’s basketball team on the court when the WNIT banner was raised.

The McRobbies had a front row seat to the Hoosiers’ victory over Virginia Tech to capture the title last season.

"The dedication, fight, pride and resilience our Hoosiers displayed today and all throughout the tournament were truly inspiring, as was the record-setting show of support from our fans, who electrified Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall with their IU spirit and demonstrated why they are the very best fans in the nation,” they said in a statement released after the championship win.

The McRobbies plan to join Hoosier fans in Assembly Hall again to cheer for another successful basketball season.
