April Lidinsky, associate professor of women’s and gender studies and director of IU South Bend Women’s and Gender Studies Program, listens as IU President Michael A. Lidinsky was presented with The Frederic Bachman Lieber Memorial Award for embracing innovative, high-impact pedagogy, continual contribution to her field through scholarship, and close mentoring relationships with students that have improved student retention while expanding and enhancing the Women’s and Gender Studies Program at IU South Bend.

Nicholas Zautra, associate instructor in the IU Bloomington Department of History and Philosophy of Science and Medicine, right, holds The Lieber Memorial Teaching Associate Award while standing beside IU President Michael A. McRobbie. His ambition and love of teaching have marked him as an exceptional doctoral student and associate instructor. Not only has Zautra taught six courses, but three of them were of his own design; these include a class on the philosophy of satire, the history and philosophy of psychiatry, and animal research ethics.

David B. Audretsch, Distinguished Professor and Ameritech Chair of Economic Development and Director of the Institute for Development Strategies in the IU Bloomington School of Public and Environmental Affairs, right, holds The John W. Ryan Award for Distinguished Contributions to International Programs and Studies while standing beside IU President Michael A. McRobbie. Audretsch has been named among the top 60 influential economists of all time, and he has received two honorary doctoral degrees, one from Jönköping University in Sweden, and the other from the University of Augsburg in Germany. He has expanded SPEA and the Institute for Development Strategies’ role internationally, reaching out to connections across Europe to create opportunities for SPEA students at home and abroad.

Tina Baich, associate librarian at IUPUI's University Library, right, holds The W. George Pinnell Award for Outstanding Service, while standing beside IU President Michael A. McRobbie. Baich has been at the “leaning-forward” edge of the library and information organization profession, in the words of one of her colleagues. Her background in technical services has benefitted university, state, regional, and national organizations, improving information services that libraries provide.

Tanice Gayle Foltz, professor of sociology and director of the IU Northwest Women’s and Gender Studies Program, right, holds The W. George Pinnell Award for Outstanding Service while standing next to IU President Michael A. McRobbie. Foltz was hired in 1990 to teach criminology, juvenile delinquency and social movements, but she had an interest in women’s and gender issues that led her to develop several women’s and gender studies courses and eventually direct the program. She has been the energetic director that the IU Northwest Women’s and Gender Studies Program needed.

McRobbie. Morgan’s work on integrating cutting-edge technology and innovative pedagogy enable IU Southeast to fulfill its commitment to providing the best that higher education has to offer. She has worked to advocate high-quality online and hybrid classes through her former position as director of the Faculty Academy on Excellence in Teaching (FACET), and she pioneers classroom technology to improve student learning.
