A Discussion on Boosting Southwest Central Indiana’s Economy
A group of state and regional leaders—that included IU President Michael A. McRobbie—assembled in Odon, Indiana to have a discussion concerning $42 million in Lilly Endowment grants awarded for educational and economic initiatives in southwest central Indiana. The 11-county area includes Brown, Crawford, Daviess, Dubois, Greene, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Orange, Owen and Washington counties.

IU President Michael A. McRobbie talks about one of the initiatives funded by a $122,600 Lilly Endowment Inc. grant. The money is directed to the Indiana University Foundation to study the feasibility of establishing a “Rural Center of Excellence” at Indiana University to study and address the societal challenges that rural communities face.
