Patrick O'Meara International Lecture

The Jadhav family traveled to IU Bloomington to hear Narendra Jadhav, an IU alumnus, economist, writer and educator and a member of India's parliament, speak. IU Professor and Vice President Emeritus Patrick O'Meara introduced Narendra Jadhav, the speaker of the 2016 Patrick O'Meara International Lecture. Jadhav, who earned a doctorate in economics from IU in 1986, served the Reserve Bank of India for 31 years, retiring in 2008 from the position of principal advisor and chief economist. He also worked for four years at the International Monetary Fund.
Professor and Vice President Emeritus Patrick O'Meara welcomes Narendra Jadhav to the stage. From 2006 to 2009, Jadhav was vice chancellor of the University of Pune, the largest traditional university in the world with 650,000 students.

Narendra Jadhav delivers his lecture during the sixth annual Patrick O'Meara International Lecture. In addition to presenting the O'Meara Lecture, Jadhav participated in a series of activities with faculty and students at the IU School of Global and International Studies, the College of Arts and Sciences, the Kelley School of Business and the Hutton Honors College over a three-day visit to campus.
