IU Bloomington's degree candidates stand as the procession continues to makes its way into Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Approximately 2,015 degrees were awarded to 1,933 IU Bloomington students during 2016 winter commencement.
The IU Bloomington Class of 2016 takes a seat as the ceremony begins. The oldest graduate was 66, and the youngest was 20. The most numerous degree to be granted was Bachelor of Arts, and psychology was the most common major for the B.A. recipients.

Greenhouse, a Joseph Goldstein Lecturer in Law and Knight Distinguished Journalist-in-Resident at Yale Law School, is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who spent 40 years at "The New York Times." She was selected as the winter commencement speaker.
