The groundbreaking is for a three-story, 45,000-square-foot, $21.6 million clinical building at the IU School of Dentistry. The school has been operating in facilities that were built in the 1930s, 1960s, and 1970s, and the new space will provide state-of-the-art clinics.

During the groundbreaking, President McRobbie announced that the clinical addition will be named the James J. Fritts, D.D.S. Clinical Care Center. Dr. James Fritts is a 1965 graduate of the dental school from Rochester, Indiana. Fritts and his family made a generous donation toward the new building.
